  • Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup milk

2 apples, peeled, cored, and chopped

1 tablespoon cinnamon sugar

For the glaze:

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 tablespoon milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.

  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.

  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients.

  5. Fold in the chopped apples and cinnamon sugar until evenly distributed.

  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Layer with more apples and cinnamon sugar. Add the remaining batter on top and swirl gently with a knife to create a marble effect.

  7. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. For the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread.

  9. Slice, serve, and enjoy!

Notes

    • Nutty Version: Add chopped walnuts or pecans for extra crunch and flavor.

    • Spiced Twist: Add a pinch of ground nutmeg or allspice to the cinnamon for a deeper, spicier flavor.

    • Caramel Drizzle: Replace the glaze with a drizzle of caramel sauce for an extra sweet touch.

    • Vegan Option: Use coconut oil instead of butter and flax eggs or chia seeds for the eggs for a vegan-friendly version.
