Instructions

Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cook the beef mixture: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and fully cooked.

Season the beef: Stir in the enchilada seasoning mix, enchilada sauce, and diced green chilies (if using). Let it simmer for 5 minutes to combine the flavors.

Layer the casserole: In a baking dish, layer half of the tortilla strips, followed by half of the beef mixture and half of the shredded cheese. Repeat the layers.
