Ingredients
For the Casserole:
1 loaf brioche or French bread, cubed
6 large eggs
2 cups milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
Optional Garnish:
Powdered sugar for garnish
Instructions
-
Grease a 9×13 baking dish and add half of the cubed bread.
-
Sprinkle half of the blueberries over the bread, then repeat with the remaining bread and blueberries.
-
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
-
Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread and blueberries.
-
Cover and refrigerate overnight to allow the bread to soak up the custard mixture.
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
Bake uncovered for 45–50 minutes, or until the casserole is golden brown and firm in the center.
-
Let the casserole sit for 10 minutes before serving. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar.
