Ingredients
Pasta
- 12 oz (340 g) linguine pasta
Beef Mixture
- 1 pound (450 g) ground beef
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1⁄2 cup (120 g) unsalted butter
- 1⁄4 cup (60 ml) heavy cream
- 1 cup (90 g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup (120 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
Optional Garnish
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving 1 cup of pasta water. Set the pasta aside.
- Brown the Beef: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add Garlic and Seasoning: Add the minced garlic to the browned beef and cook for another 2 minutes, stirring frequently until fragrant. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
- Prepare the Sauce: Reduce heat to low and add the butter to the skillet with the beef. Allow it to melt completely, then stir in the heavy cream until blended.
- Add Cheeses: Gradually add the Parmesan and mozzarella cheeses, stirring constantly until the cheese is melted and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
- Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked linguine to the skillet. Gently toss to coat the pasta evenly in the cheesy garlic butter sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until your desired consistency is achieved.
- Finish and Serve: Optionally, sprinkle with chopped parsley and red pepper flakes for extra flavor and heat. Serve immediately while warm and enjoy!
Notes
- Swap ground beef for turkey, chicken, or your favorite ground meat.
- Make it vegetarian by omitting beef and adding mushrooms or extra veggies instead.
- A splash of white wine or a squeeze of lemon juice can brighten up the sauce.
- Pair with a side salad or garlic bread for a full meal.
