Ingredients

For the Beef & Marinade:

  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

For the Stir-Fry:

  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

For the Sauce:

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • Marinate the Beef:

    • In a bowl, mix sliced beef with soy sauce and cornstarch.
    • Let it marinate for 10-15 minutes while preparing the vegetables.
  • Cook the Vegetables:

    • Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
    • Stir-fry bell peppers and onions for 3-4 minutes until slightly softened.
    • Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Cook the Beef:

    • Add the remaining 1 tbsp vegetable oil to the pan.
    • Stir-fry marinated beef for 2-3 minutes until browned.
    • Add garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Combine & Serve:

    • Return the vegetables to the pan with the beef.
    • Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, water, sugar, sesame oil, and black pepper.
    • Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes, coating everything in the sauce.
    • Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
