Ingredients
- 1 box white cake mix (plus ingredients needed on the package: eggs, water, and oil)
- 1 box (3 oz) strawberry-flavored gelatin (Jell-O)
- 1 cup boiling water
- ½ cup cold water
- 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed
- Optional: Fresh strawberries, sliced, for garnish
Instructions
1. Bake the Cake:
- Preheat the oven according to the cake mix instructions.
- Prepare the cake batter as directed and pour it into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Bake according to package instructions (about 25 minutes) or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely.
2. Prepare the Strawberry Jell-O:
- In a medium bowl, mix strawberry gelatin with 1 cup boiling water. Stir until dissolved.
- Add ½ cup cold water and mix well.
3. Poke & Fill:
- Use a fork or the end of a wooden spoon to poke holes evenly across the cooled cake.
- Slowly pour the gelatin mixture over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours until set.
4. Add the Whipped Topping:
- Spread the thawed whipped topping evenly over the chilled cake.
5. Garnish & Serve:
- Top with fresh sliced strawberries, if desired.
- Slice, serve chilled, and enjoy!
