This Easy Sweet Condensed Milk Bread is a soft, fluffy, and slightly sweet homemade bread made with sweetened condensed milk. Perfect for breakfast, a snack, or dessert, this indulgent loaf has a rich, comforting flavor and a pillowy texture that will melt in your mouth.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 45 minutes
  • Yield: 10 slices

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk

1/2 cup warm water

1 packet dry yeast

1/4 cup butter, melted

1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Activate the yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until bubbly and foamy.

  • Mix wet ingredients: Add sugar, sweetened condensed milk, melted butter, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir to combine.

  • Add flour: Gradually mix in flour, a little at a time, until the dough comes together. You may need to add more flour to get the right consistency.

  • Knead the dough: Knead dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Add flour if necessary to prevent sticking.

  • First rise: Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  • Shape the dough: Punch down the dough to release air. Shape it into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan.

  • Second rise: Let the dough rise for another 30 minutes, or until it puffs up.

  • Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25–30 minutes, until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

  • Cool and serve: Let the bread cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Slice and enjoy!

Notes

  • Add-ins: Stir in raisins, dried cranberries, or chopped nuts for added texture.

  • Cinnamon sugar topping: Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar before baking.

  • Glaze: Drizzle with a glaze made of powdered sugar and milk for extra sweetness.

  • Whole wheat flour: Substitute half or all of the flour with whole wheat flour for a nuttier flavor.
