  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • For the Meatballs:

    • 1 lb ground chicken
    • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (or almond flour for keto)
    • 1 egg white
    • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
    • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
    • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For the Tzatziki Sauce:

    • 1 cup Greek yogurt
    • 1/2 cucumber, grated
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
    • 1 garlic clove, minced
    • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs (or almond flour for keto), egg white, chopped onion, minced garlic, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully incorporated.
  • Form the mixture into small meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • While the meatballs bake, prepare the tzatziki sauce by combining Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, olive oil, fresh dill, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth.
  • Serve the meatballs with a generous amount of tzatziki sauce on top or on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Keto-Friendly: Substitute breadcrumbs with almond flour for a keto version.
  • Herb Variations: Add parsley or mint to the tzatziki sauce for extra freshness.
  • Spicy Meatballs: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meatball mixture for a kick.
  • Vegetarian Option: Use chickpeas or lentils instead of ground chicken to make a plant-based meatball.
