Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
2–3 tablespoons cold water
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
In a food processor, combine flour, cheddar cheese, butter, salt, paprika, and garlic powder. Pulse until the mixture forms coarse crumbs.
-
Gradually add cold water, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough forms a ball.
-
Roll the dough out onto a floured surface to about 1/8-inch thickness.
-
Use a cookie cutter or knife to cut the dough into small squares.
-
Place the squares on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
-
Let the crackers cool before serving.
Notes
-
Variations: Add cayenne pepper or chili powder for a spicy kick. Use gouda, Parmesan, or a cheddar-jack blend for different flavors. Fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme can be added for an herby twist.
-
Storage: Store the crackers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. For longer storage, freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes to restore crispiness.
