Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup green beans, trimmed
- 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 teaspoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken pieces and cook for 7-8 minutes, until browned and cooked through. Remove chicken and set aside.
- Cook the Green Beans: In the same skillet, add green beans and cook for 3-4 minutes until tender but still crisp.
- Make the Sauce: Whisk together hoisin sauce, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, ginger, and garlic in a small bowl.
- Combine and Simmer: Return chicken to the skillet, pour the sauce over the chicken and green beans, stirring to coat. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Finishing Touches: Drizzle sesame oil (if using) and sprinkle sesame seeds for garnish.
- Serve: Serve immediately over rice or noodles.
Notes
- Vegetarian Option: Replace chicken with tofu or tempeh for a vegetarian version.
- Spicy Kick: Add chili paste, sriracha, or red pepper flakes to the sauce for extra heat.
- Veggie Swap: Substitute green beans with bell peppers, snow peas, or broccoli for variety.
