Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- 2 lbs organic chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 2 teaspoons On Everything All-Purpose Blend
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
For the Homemade Hot Honey Sauce:
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup organic raw honey
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon chili powder
- Pinch of sea salt
Instructions
- Prep and Season the Chicken: In a large bowl, combine chicken breasts with olive oil, On Everything All-Purpose Blend, smoked paprika, sea salt, and pepper. Marinate the chicken for at least 3 hours or overnight in the fridge, then let it sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before cooking.
- Make Slit-like Cuts: Make small slit-like cuts on top of each chicken breast to help the sauce soak in better.
- Make the Hot Honey Sauce: In a skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Sauté garlic for 1-2 minutes, then stir in honey, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, chili powder, and sea salt. Stir until smooth and thick, then remove from heat.
- Bake the Chicken: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the chicken breasts on the sheet and spoon half of the hot honey sauce over them. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked.
- Serve: Once the chicken is done, spoon the remaining hot honey sauce over the top and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
Notes
- Spicy Level: Adjust cayenne pepper and red pepper flakes to your preferred spice level.
- Smoky Twist: Swap smoked paprika for chipotle powder for an added smoky, spicy flavor.
- Crispy Chicken: Broil for 3-5 minutes at the end of baking for extra crispy edges.
