Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and grease a baking sheet.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix together the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Add Wet Ingredients: Add the buttermilk and honey (if using), and mix until a dough forms. The dough will be slightly sticky.
- Shape the Dough: Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet and shape it into a round loaf.
- Score the Loaf: Score a shallow “X” on top of the loaf with a knife to help it rise evenly.
- Bake: Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the bread sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Cool: Let the bread cool before slicing and serving.
