Ingredients
For the Steak:
- 4 beef steaks (sirloin or ribeye)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and black pepper to taste
For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup beef or chicken stock
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Steak: Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season steaks with salt and pepper.
- Sear steaks for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or cook to your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and let them rest.
- Make the Garlic Sauce: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and stock. Stir in Dijon mustard, thyme, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return the steaks to the skillet and spoon the sauce over them. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to warm through.
- Serve the steaks topped with the creamy garlic sauce and garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
- Add Mushrooms: Sauté sliced mushrooms with the garlic for extra flavor.
- Make it Spicy: Add red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper.
- Extra Cheesy: Stir in grated Parmesan for a creamy, cheesy finish.
- Herb Swap: Use fresh rosemary or oregano instead of thyme for a different twist.
