Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup pepperoncini peppers, sliced
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, and cook for 5-6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
-
Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and minced garlic. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.
-
Add the pepperoncini peppers, chicken broth, and heavy cream to the skillet. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
-
Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and the chicken to absorb the flavors.
-
Serve with rice, vegetables, or your favorite side dishes.
Notes
-
For a spicier version, add more pepperoncini peppers or hot sauce.
-
You can swap the heavy cream with coconut milk for a dairy-free option.
-
Fresh herbs like thyme, oregano, or rosemary will add depth to the sauce.
-
Add vegetables like spinach, bell peppers, or mushrooms to the skillet for extra nutrition.
