A refreshing blend of vanilla-infused black tea and homemade lemonade served over ice, Lemon Vanilla Black Tea Iced Tea is the perfect balance of sweet, citrusy, and aromatic flavors. This easy-to-make drink is ideal for hot days and elevates your iced tea with a subtle twist of vanilla.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes (includes cooling time)
  • Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

Vanilla Black Tea

  • 400ml filtered water
  • 23 tsp Sirocco vanilla black tea (or any quality vanilla black tea blend)

Homemade Lemonade

  • 15g sugar
  • 200ml water
  • 50g fresh lemon juice (about 1 large lemon)

To Serve

  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh lemon slices (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Vanilla Black Tea: In a jar or container, combine the 2-3 teaspoons of vanilla black tea with 400ml filtered water. Stir gently to mix. Cover and refrigerate for several hours or overnight for the most flavorful infusion.
  2. Make the Homemade Lemonade: In a small bowl or measuring jug, dissolve 15g sugar in 200ml warm water. Once the sugar is dissolved, let the mixture cool to room temperature. Add 50g freshly squeezed lemon juice and stir to combine thoroughly.
  3. Assemble the Drink: Fill a glass with a generous handful of ice cubes. Pour about 150ml (or to taste) of the homemade lemonade over the ice. Add fresh lemon slices if you like extra citrus flavor.
  4. Add the Vanilla Black Tea: Top up the glass with the chilled vanilla black tea infusion. Give the drink a gentle stir to combine the lemonade and tea, enjoying the balance of sweet, tart, and aromatic vanilla.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of lemon juice and sugar to taste if you prefer a more tart or sweeter lemonade.
  • If you don’t have vanilla black tea, add a few drops of pure vanilla extract to regular black tea.
  • Garnish with lemon wheels or a sprig of mint for an elevated presentation.
  • The vanilla black tea can be prepped a day ahead and stored in the fridge.
