  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

4 chicken breasts

1 cup Italian breadcrumbs

1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

1/4 cup flour

1 egg, beaten

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

2 tbsp olive oil

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet.

  • Prepare the Breading Station: In a shallow bowl, combine the Italian breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, add the flour. In a third bowl, beat the egg.

  • Coat the Chicken: Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, dip into the egg, and then coat with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently for a good coating.

  • Brown the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken breasts for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.

  • Bake: Transfer the chicken to the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

  • Garnish and Serve: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Add a Sauce: Top with marinara or Alfredo sauce and add mozzarella during the last few minutes of baking for a cheesy finish.

  • Spicy Version: Add red pepper flakes to the breadcrumb mixture for a spicy kick.

  • Zesty Twist: Drizzle lemon juice or add lemon zest after baking for a refreshing twist.
