  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon chili paste
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • Romaine lettuce leaves, for wrapping

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add garlic and ginger and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  • Add ground chicken to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  • Stir in soy sauce, rice vinegar, chili paste, and sesame oil. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring to coat the chicken.
  • Remove from heat and stir in chopped green onions and cilantro.
  • Spoon the chicken mixture into lettuce leaves and wrap them up. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Beef Option: Substitute ground chicken with beef or pork for a different protein.
  • Spicy Adjustments: Add more chili paste or red pepper flakes for extra heat.
  • Vegetarian Version: Use crumbled tofu or tempeh for a plant-based option.
  • Peanut Sauce: Drizzle with peanut sauce for extra flavor and richness.
