Ingredients
4 tilapia fillets
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
Juice of 1 lemon
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
-
Cook the tilapia: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season tilapia with salt and pepper. Cook 4–5 minutes per side, or until golden and flaky. Remove and set aside.
-
Make the sauce: In the same pan, melt butter. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
-
Add lemon juice: Stir in lemon juice, scraping up any bits from the pan. Let simmer for 1 minute.
-
Serve: Pour lemon butter sauce over cooked tilapia fillets. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
-
Vegetable pairing: Serve with steamed broccoli, green beans, or asparagus.
-
Spicy option: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce for heat.
-
Fish alternatives: Cod, haddock, or sole can be used instead of tilapia.
-
Herb variation: Fresh thyme, dill, or tarragon can be added for more complexity.
-
Reheating: Warm gently over low heat or microwave to avoid drying the fish.
