Ingredients
Fruit
- Watermelon slices (as many as desired, 1 inch thick is ideal)
Chocolate
- 1 cup dark chocolate melting wafers or chips (adjust amount to match number of watermelon slices)
Topping
- Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling
Instructions
- Prepare Watermelon – Pat each watermelon slice dry with a paper towel or clean cloth to remove excess liquid. This helps the chocolate adhere.
- Melt Chocolate – Melt the dark chocolate melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl according to package instructions, stirring until smooth.
- Dip Watermelon – Dip each watermelon slice halfway into the melted chocolate, gently shaking off any excess. Place the dipped slices onto a baking sheet lined with wax paper.
- Add Sea Salt – While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle the tops with flaky sea salt to taste.
- Finish & Set – Repeat the process until all slices are coated. Allow the chocolate to harden at room temperature or briefly chill in the refrigerator until set. Serve and enjoy.
Notes
- Add popsicle sticks to the watermelon before dipping for easier handling and a fun presentation.
- For a frozen treat, freeze watermelon slices for 2-3 hours before dipping in chocolate and follow the remaining steps.
- Best served fresh—enjoy right after the chocolate sets for ultimate juiciness!
- Use a sharp knife to cut even slices for best results.
- Try drizzling with white chocolate for extra flair.
